Our Story

In the weeks proceeding their engagement, Jimerson began hatching a plan.

He didn't know how or when, but he knew he was going to propose to Wendy soon.
After realizing a poetry night was coming up at the Coffee House, he resolved to ask her during the event.

Poetry night, what a perfect setting! He'd just write a poem. Right? Well, the poem quickly, somehow, turned into a full-blown song. Which happened to be the first song he'd ever written. Not a bright man...

He told no one. The only witnesses were the dog and cats, who suffered through Jimerson's relentless ukulele practice. Someone give those animals a cookie.

On the May 17th, 2024, while the poetry night was in full-swing, it dawned on him that proposing might derail the entire event. So, he waited until he was absolutely sure the last poem was read, then made his way to the stage.

He was sneaky, though! He told Wendy he had wrote a song and, since it was his first ever, asked her to move near the stage to record it for him. It worked!

The plan was coming together. Wendy was absolutely oblivious.

So there he was, literally trying to Set The Stage while legs and hands shook with nervousness. Thank goodness for the hours of practice, because what followed was quite a blur.

To everyone's surprise, Wendy said Yes!

And afterwards, poetry night turned into an impromptu Engagement Party!

...where Jimerson had to do a lot of explaining as to why he Told No One of his secret plans.

...and Wendy had to repeatedly answer "I don't know!" when asked if we had set a date. 😉

Here are a few photos from that special night.

Since the engagement, Wendy and Jimerson picked the absolute only date that would work with everyone's crazy schedules and got to work!

Two experienced event planners can pull off organizing a wedding in less than six months, right? Easy?

...Right?

Well, anyway, here are some of the engagement photos taken by the talented Jandery Ziyadeh.
